12 Tags of 2014 {My October Version}

Hello, my blogging friends!  Today I'd like to share my October version of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014.  I can't believe it's almost the end of October, I just don't know where the times gone!  This will be my last Halloween make of the season.  Tim Holtz has a wonderful tutorial on his blog with step-by-step instructions on how to create this fun technique here.
  Here's a side-view to show you all the different layers that I had with my twigs and pumpkin.
 Thought I'd give you a quick peek at what my tag looked like before all that gorgeous Distress Spray Stain was put on :)  looks pretty plain next to all that color! :)
 The distress spray stain colors that I used were mowed lawn, spiced marmalade and seedless preserves.  To really bring out the wording a little better, I chose to add some black soot distress paint to the raised portions of the text.
  I wanted to lighten up my colors a little bit, so I misted lightly with water and then dried with a paper towel.  I did give it a shot of heat with my heat tool just to dry everything really well.
  I shaded the edges of my tag with black soot distress ink and a blending tool.
  I cut one of the labels from the Tim Holtz labels thinlits dies and the smallest hang tag from the tag collection dies, using manila cardstock with the magnetic cutting platform.
  I used texture paste and the Harlequin stencil on the label that I cut out.
 After dried, I put seedless preserves spray stain on the label and felt it was too dark.
  So, I lifted some of the color off of it too with a spray bottle of water and paper towel.
  Here's a up close after I put the black soot distress paint and a little antique bronze distress spray stain on the label.
Oh my goodness, can I just tell you how much I LoVe those candy corn M&M's. {yum,yum...yum}  I'm going to be sad when they're gone.  Any who, back to the tag :) I cut the kraft glassine trees and bats out of the Halloween Shadows die and the number 31 out of the alphanumeric dies.
 I cut a few snippets of the linen ribbon and unwound the weave on one end just a bit and placed under the pumpkin to add a little extra interest.  I added glossy accents to the number 31 and to the buckle on the witches hat.
 To finish my tag off, I added some black/cream ribbon, Halloween idea-ology and a wishbone.
 I hope you have enjoyed my version of Tim's October tag it was a lot of fun to make.   I also want to remind you that it's not too late to enter your "in disguise" project here at the Inspiration Journal, you have until October 31.  One lucky winner will receive a very generous $50 gift voucher to spend at Inspiration Emporium!  You can find all the supplies I used at Inspiration Emporium via the links below.
