Cherish Everyday

Hello friends, Bobbi here!  Today I have two post I'm sharing with you, this is the first one.  I needed a quick card for a dear friend and this is what I whipped up!
I started off by heat embossing distress watercolor paper with the "dots" Tim Holtz stamp, distress embossing ink and gold embossing powder.  I brushed away some of the dots before applying heat to it, it's easily done using a small dry paint brush.
The colors I chose to work with were abandoned coral, pink raspberry and spiced marmalade distress ink.  I just smeared some ink on a clean acrylic block.  The reason I chose this technique, verses sprays, was to be in more control of where my ink was placed and disbursed on the watercolor paper.
First I sprayed the entire watercolor cardstock with a nice coat of water from my mister.  Then I began picking up color off of my acrylic block with my water brush.
I used the brush to move around the color and adding more water as needed.  I was very careful when  drying the watercolor paper, due to it already being heat embossed with the gold embossing powder.
To make those great watermarks and splats, I just picked up the droplets off my nonstick craft sheet with my watercolor paper and heat dried.

The heart, wording and scribble was also made with distress watercolor cardstock and the distress ink using the exact same coloring technique before die cutting.  The distress ink that I used on "cherish everyday" is the new Mermaid Lagoon!
I adhered everything to a piece of kraft card stock.  The kraft cardstock dimensions were 4.25 x 5.5 folded in half.
