Hello friends! I sure hope you're having a wonderful day! This month the theme is 'Tis the Season' and anything goes over at Inspiration Journal, so I made a Christmas card to share!
I just love the combination of blues, whites and silvers so that's what I've incorporated into my card. Here's how I put it together. I embossed distress watercolor cardstock with white embossing powder and using one of the Treeline stamps. I continued the white embossing powder all the way down to the bottom edge of the card. Then to really bring out the silhouettes of the trees, I took tumbled glass distress ink and a blending tool and buffed on color along the treeline. The ink will only stick to the portions that are unembossed. I buffed some tumble glass distress ink on a piece of scrap watercolor cardstock, then punched a few snowflakes, laurels, branches and holly out of it. I then distressed some silver metallic kraft core card stock with a sanding grip and punched more laurels, branches and holly. used blue kraft core for the card base and the middle layer is more silver metallic kraft core, then my stamped card front. I distressed all paper pieces with walnut stain distress ink and a bone folder, then layered everything up. I tied a little metallic trim onto my card and used a couple of colored gumdrops for the centers of my snowflakes, then added the rest of my punch outs.
