Flower Garden Watercolor Card

Today I'm sharing a project that I did for Inspiration Emporiums "Fresh Start" Challenge and Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge hosted by Linda Ledbetter.  I can't believe we are on Challenge number 20 already... it's found on page 40 of Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Volume Three book.  If you don't have this great book you can find it here and Tim Holtz will even sign it for you!!!  This challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique who have a wonderful $25 gift voucher to give away to one lucky winner. Also, the Curiosity Crew Pick wins a fabulous pack of goodies from Tim and Mario!  Now,here is my take on this "Distressed Watercolor Part 2" challenge!

Now I can't give away Tim's techniques on this challenge, but I do hope you play along over at CC3C(challenge/giveaway closed)!   If you have any questions or if there's anything I missed please let me know I love your comments, I appreciate each and everyone of them!  As always thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

  3. You have really done a beautiful job with these new images from Tim. These really are my favorite new releases, but I was afraid if I said they were my favorite, I might not have had a chance to win! (which I did!). Gorgeous card, Bobbi!

  12. I made my own version of your card. It's the first of the new stamps that I watercolored. Sure puts me in a zen state. Your card is inspiring. Thanks as always for sharing.

  13. Bobbi, could you share the masking technique you used for this card? I've been staring at it, trying to figure out what was stamped first, etc., then masked! Thank you!

    1. Hi Lee, I'd be happy to share! I just used some sticky notes and stamped each bloom on the sticky notes and cut them out. Starting with the first pink bloom, which would make it the second flower from the left. I stamp that one first onto the watercolor paper and then covered it with my sticky note mask. Then stamped the first and second coneflowers. Then stamped the second pink flower in the upper right-hand corner of the card. Then I applied three masks to the surrounding blooms to be able to stamp the center lavender bloom. Then I applied a mask to the lavender bloom and stamped the third and final coneflower on the lower right side. Oh boy, I sure hope I haven't confused you...but that's how I did it! Hope that helps! :) Bobbi xx
