12 Tags of 2015 {My March Version}

Hello, my blogging friends!  Today I'd like to share my March version of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2015.  This was so much fun and I love the techniques that he went with for this month!  I think you've heard that from me a time or two, what can I say...I'm a technique kinda gal! :)  Tim Holtz has a wonderful tutorial on his blog with step-by-step instructions on how to create this fun technique here.
 I followed Tim's tutorial step-by-step, just using different stamps and colors.  I went with Tattered Elements & Watercolor stamp sets.  For Distress Paint, I chose Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry and Cracked Pistachio.
After everything was dried and embossed, I shaded the outer portion of my tag with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool.
I used a bone folder to distress the tag edges.
I love, love, love these new Salvaged Dolls!  I grunged her up a bit with a little Pumice Stone Distress Paint.
 I stamped a watercolor butterfly on some leftover manila cardstock that had already been painted.  I cut  the wings out and glued them to her back and placed her amongst the cracked pistachio.  I added one of the Small Talk quotes (love them)!  You can really see how metallic the gold embossing is here!
 For the big bow at the top, I already had some ribbon dyed...I just picked some colors that went with my tag.  I think I need another large half gallon mason jar, cause this one is FULL!
I used Lemonade, Peach Bellini and Mushroom Alcohol Ink to color the Heirloom Rose.  I punch a scrap piece of manila into a circle that fit the Type Charm, then glued the rose onto the charm.
I also used a scrap piece of manila for the Tag Label charm.  I glued a small Spinner and Long Brad to the center then add Glossy Accents to fill in.  I attached both charms to the center of the bow with an O Ring.
Then I attached the bow to the top of my tag.

 I hope you have enjoyed my version of Tim's March tag it was a lot of fun to make.   I also want to remind you that it's not too late to enter your "Spring Blooms" project here at the Inspiration Journal, you have until March 31.  One lucky winner will receive a very generous $50 gift voucher to spend at Inspiration Emporium!  You can find most of the supplies I used at Inspiration Emporium via the links below. Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #24 - Remnant Rub Resist

Also, the Curiosity Crew Pick wins a fabulous pack of goodies from Tim and Mario!  I just want to take a moment and thank everyone involved in this great CC3C journey from start to finish!  Tim and Mario have been so generous with all the wonderful goodies they've donated for prizes!  The great sponsors for their outstanding store vouchers!  To all the fabulous ladies that make up the Curiosity Crew that have devoted their time, knowledge and talents in giving us so much inspiration with each new challenge!  Last but certainly not least, to Tim for all the incredible techniques and tips you have come up with and wrapped so wonderfully in this book we call "Compendium of Curiosities III"!  You are ALL greatly appreciated!  It has been so much fun playing along (even if I've missed a few here or there)! {just thought it needed said} {big smile}  Now, here is my take on this fun Remnant Rub Resist Challenge!  I made a tag with a masculine twist.
Now, I can't give away Tim's great challenge techniques but I can tell you all the other details about my tag!  I started out with a plain #8 manila tag.  I worked Tim's Remnant Rub Resist magic for the background.  The colors that I used were Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Picket Fence Distress Spray Stains.  On the left side of the tag I stamped the map from Tim's new Documented stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink.
 I took a scrap piece of manila cardstock and added some Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stain, a little water and dried with a heat tool.  I stamped the small plane with Jet Black Archival ink, then cut out.
The picture is from Tim's new Idea-ology Photobooth strips.  You get 30 strips to a pack and each strip has 3 different images...that is 90 images to play with!!!
I distressed all the metal idea-ology and mirrored stars with a little Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint and Adirondack Mushroom Alcohol Ink.  I fully blame Paula over at One Lucky Day for wanting to throw Mushroom Alcohol Ink on just about everything now...I can't seem to stop myself!  Don't worry Paula, it's a very, very good thing thanks! {smile}&{wink}
 I attached the #2 with foam squares and the mirrored stars with glossy accents to the bottom left corner of the tag.  The gear, spinners and long fastener was attached to the center of the compass on the top right side of tag.
 I filled one of the small vials with real sand (I had a little on hand), you could also use Distress Glitter.  Then attached a remnant rub using Tim's new Remnant Rub Tool to the front of the vial.  I also attached a Tiny Star to Tiny Vial after distressing.  I just cut the brad feet off and glued to the front of vial.  I used a little Glossy Accents to glue it to my tag.
I distressed the tag, photo and plane with a bone folder.  I attach the plane and photo with foam squares and typed token with Glossy Accents.  To finish it off I added some Linen Ribbon, Airmail Paper String and a Loop Pin to the top of my tag.
Remember to enter your "Spring Blooms" themed projects over at Inspiration Journal and one lucky winner will be given a very generous $50 gift credit, to spend at Inspiration Emporium.  You can find most of the supplies I used at Inspiration Emporium via the links below.  Remember to use my coupon code - vintagemuse - to save 10% on your order.  That wraps it up for me, I hope you enjoyed my Remnant Rub Resist tag!   If you have any questions or if there's anything I missed please let me know I love your comments, I appreciate each and everyone of them!  As always thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!
